On behalf of the staff of Kursk State Medical University, I invite foreign students to join our university. We are one of the leading medical universities in the Russian Federation having the best experience of teaching and training in different faculties of the university in Russian medium as well as in English medium. Our open admission policy makes it possible for young people of any age background and nationality to study at the Kursk State Medical University.

It is one of the oldest cities of central Russia near Moscow. It is an industrial hub with major industrial parks. It has rich cultural and scientific values and is known for its socio-cultural heritage. Being an industrial and cultural hub, it caters to a population of around 6 lakhs. The average temperature in summer is +20c°, and winter is -8C°. Kursk State Medical University has made the city of Kursk an educational landmark of Russia. It is also considered a medical education hub for international students.

University at a Glance

Kursk State Medical University is ranked among the 10 best Russian Universities and is the first medical university in Russia to conduct medical program fully in English. It was formed in the year 1935 as a State University with English as teaching medium. Kursk State Medical University accommodates around 6400 students of which 1200 are from overseas. There are around 650 lecturers with 70% of them holding PhD. The university has 14 faculties with 67 departments.

The university provides training in 10 specialties namely General Medicine, Pediatrics, Medico-Prevention Management, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Economics and Management at an Enterprise Of Public Health, Biotechnology.

The administrative division of the university has subdivisions such as Academic Council of the University, University Administration, Dean's Office, Inter-faculty Boards, Student Clerical Office, Staff Administration, Patent Group, Scientific and Medical information Department, Research Sector, Department of Post Graduate Training and Clinical Specialization, Economic Activity Administration, Administration for International Relations.

Socio-scientific subdivisions of the university are Central Problem Commission, Scientific Problem Commission, Thesis Council, Young Scientist Council, and Student Scientific Society.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACULTIES OF THE UNIVERSITY

The class size is 6 to 12 students in one group depending upon the course. The sessions are more interactive and practical in nature. Use of technology is of large scale as research work is an integral part of studies. Assessments are periodic in nature and have good hierarchy systems. Due to effective analysing policy students tend to gain more knowledge as repetitive assessment gives them an impetus to absorb more. The university has well acclaimed staff strength and has world renowned specialists visiting the university and interacting with students on a regular basis.

EDUCATION

Russia has been a destination for foreign students from the times of the Soviet Union (USSR). Since then, KSMU was one of the medical schools from which foreign students were graduating in ample amounts. Currently, 450 students from 46 countries are studying in KSMU. More than 500 our foreign medical graduates and 200 Post graduates and Fellows currently success fully working all over the world, which explain the popularity of KSMU among foreigners.
